Doncha just love how fivers with 1400# and 1600# DRY hitch weights are classed as "1/2 ton towable"!
While there are a few 1/2 tons that can handle that (plus a hitch, plus passengers) I venture to suggest there are a helluva lot more 1/2 tons that will be overloaded by both these units.

To the OP - the 80" full queen in the Wildcat would be the clincher for me vs. the 75" long "RV queen" in the Durango.
What truck do you have to pull with?

I vote for the wildcat. Cargo carrying capacity, gray tank size, awning is 3 feet larger, larger queen bed and looks like more counter space.

One more note to the OP- fully loaded, that Wildcat will have a pin weight around 2260#. No, you probably won't load that heavy but you need to figure on the pin being close to 2000# by the time you load up.
Add a hitch, passengers and "stuff" in the truck and you will likely be pushing the payload of the stoutest 1/2 ton - the F150HD with an 8200# GVWR.
That would even push SOME 3/4 ton diesel crew cab 4x4s to their limit also.
That would include the truck in my sig with a 2700# payload capacity.

1/2 ton towable indeed! :E
Maybe OK empty!

I can just see a newbie with a 1/2 ton that has 1300-1500# of payload rating pulling these fivers saying "but the Manufacturer said it was OK"
IMHO the Manufacturers should be held responsible for misleading advertising!

We have the Durango 295CS and love it, but I have to agree with the above. However, the floor plan for the Wildcat doesn't show much storage for clothes. Any closet?

We originally started with an F250 and did okay, but we were at max payload. In anticipation of a slightly bigger model we traded up to the 350...meanwhile it tows and
carrys the Durango so much better than the 250.

I went and looked at the Wildcat again today and noticed the rain gutter down spout is directly over the the bedroom closet slideout. If it rains water will poor on the top of that slideout. Could this be a problem?

If I had to choose between the two I would choose the Durango because it has the two recliners, sofa and you can see the ent. center from both without contorting your neck.

That's a big relief - I was afraid you were falling for the "1/2 ton towable" hype.

Now, go take a look at your "Tire and Loading info" label on your drivers door jamb (it's yellow).
Read what it says about max payload and go from there.
(Depending on the year and configuration of your truck it could be as low as 2000# or as high as 3500#).

Yes there is a closet slide in the bedroom on the Wildcat. Although when I went and looked at it again yesterday I noticed the rain gutter down spout is directly over the closet slide. Will this cause a leek in the closet?
