One more point...after switching to LT tires now I never lose air pressure like all four of my STs. Personally I didn't want to risk travelling with ST tires. I wanted more margin of safety. Many people say to derate them by 15-20% so when you do that and travel close to 65 mph on a hot day they just don't cut it. Read the testing requirements of ST and LT tires. Mine are rated for 106 mph. I guess the DOT feels non passenger tires can fail without causing damage or accidents.
We need 20/20 or Dateline to research ST tires and try to show the failure rate, etc.
