Our 3/4 ton trucks have had 6k rear axle ratings for over 35 years with LT235/85-16 E or a LT245/75-16 E as OEM.
I'll take a LT E at 3042 lbs capacity any day over a ST tire regardless of how much capacity its rated for. I've been through many issues with a ST tire on heavy trailer.

Its rare a LT on a trailer gives anyone a issue regardless of fabric or all steel ply carcass construction. Nothing at all like ST tire issues we see reported across the trailering world.
