New to me 2009 KZ Sportster 2910

So I just bought a 2009 KZ Sportster 2910 5th wheel toy hauler.
So this is my second trailer, the first was a 26 ft bumper pull travel trailer and I got tired of loading the dirt bikes in the truck bed. I am towing with a 2004 F250 6.0, so what do I need to learn over?
The dealer is installing a fifth wheel hitch and bed plug on Sat before I pick it up.
I looked it over really well and no evidence of leaks, it has a Onan 5500 Marquis Gold gen set, I really like the floor plan with the seperate garage. It has drop down bed and couch in the garage which I will probably take out and retrofit the bed to a storage shelf.
I will be hauling either my KTM 450 dirt bike or my 1989 BMW GS 1000 sidecar rig. This unit also has a slide out dining room seat and a slide is totally new to me. So what say all, school me on the way of 5th wheels.

Thanks
  • Congrats on the upgrade. You're going to love towing the 5er and backing up is easier too. Do measure your rear/front bumpers just before you attach the 5er and then after. If you see much change you might consider airbags to keep things level, it will tow better and keep your lights on the road not on Mars while driving.
  • The fifth wheel will not follow you around a corner like a bumper pull so you need to make your turns a little wider. Other than that enjoy. Oh yea, get ready for the guys that will start posting about your truck.
  • CaptRick,
Welcome to the site. We have been really happy with our KZ and I am sure you will like yours. Great choice in bikes as well... Bleed orange!
