new toy hauler and new truck

Well we bought a new 2016 K-Z Venom 4013TK 43.5 ft. pulled it home with our 2012 Dodge 3500 SRW cummins 6.7,pulled just fine plenty
of power just not heavy enough springs the pickup is only rated at 13500 pds. The Venom is 14500 empty 19000 loaded so we needed a bigger
truck So we got a 2016 Dodge 3500 crew cab dually with a flat bed 6.7
with the aisin trans 410 gears. The point is look at your truck real good be fore you buy big toyhauler.

  • Kudos James on the new RV & Truck. Glad you addressed the weight issue for your safety. You aren't the first to get one home and realize they needed a bigger rig. I'd venture to say we've have a large number of men get in that situation, and even a few who were 'shocked' when they had to tell their wives they needed a new truck :)
  • I will post pics. when we get hitch all set up.

  • Congrats, sounds like a well matched rig. Enjoy your KZ, we had one and it was a great trailer. You know you cant post a subject like this without pictures though !
  • I was just going to put DRW on it and air bags on it but it all comes down to safety and I wanted to put a flatbed on it any way so it just made more sents to buy cab and chassis with the flatbed on it.

I applaud for you realizing you didn't have enough truck and you got the right truck for the job. Most say "it has a diesel so I can pull anything".
Wish more would follow the path you did.
