My friend just bought a new 28 foot sandsport for like 50 grand and a new 2015 f350 to pull it. I have a 2004 WW fs3000 which I got as a repo back in early 2010 for 10,500, I started thinking about a new one.What a joke, sure I like the new cabinet finish and counter tops but thats it. He has a sand rail, it wont fit, the layout with the front walk around bedroom and kitchen on one side leaves no room, it would fit in mine just fine, he got a new shop thinking he could park his TH inside, nope its lifted and is 6" too high, mine would fit fine, his isn't a wide body it feels really cramped inside. his bathroom is slightly larger, mine works perfect. All of his electrical 110 outlets are under the cabinets, he has to put a box under the coffee maker to plug it in, his I phone has to hang from its cord, mine has many outlets on the walls in convienent locations. His graphics go over the windows, I thought they were transparent, nope, they block your view.They shorted him his TV remotes, never wired the TV's I had to do it for him. His swivel rockers are not comfy, mine are like sitting on a throne. He has 2 Ac's, I have one and a portable ac, he has 2 electric beds I have a pull down manual bed. I realized for the 35k difference, I love my weekend warrior and if I traded him I would buy another weekend warrior and pocket the difference. I am not impressed at all.Considering what I paid, I added about 2500.00 in upgrades, solar, stereo upgrades,2 tv's, cell booster and antenna, new vinyl flooring,Slight water damage, ro system I could still sell mine for what I paid for it easily.These new toyhaulers have got very cheap, until I buy maybe a grand design or simalar 5th wheel TH, I'm so happy to have my fs3000,its been a great trailer with very few issues, even the generator with 600 hrs still works fine.

Different strokes for dfferen't folks..What TH and TV combo someone purchases is what THEY opted to do, and probably, like me don't care what others think about the decision they made.

I hope you did the polite thing: told him how nice it is, congratulated him, wished him many years of fun and safe use, etc...

As long as the buyer is happy. What others think is irrelevant.

As long as you like the rig you have, maintain and use it. :)

Most of the structural issues WW had was with their earlier year Superlite models. The larger full size did not have the frame/tongue bending nor outrigger issues like the SL series did. At least not that I am aware of.

I was at the point I was ready to set fire to my 04' Superlite but I found someone who actually wanted to buy it despite all the issues it had. Was one of the happiest days of my life when that thing drove off...

I ride quads with two differnt families that have Weekend Warriors that would not trade them for anything else. Triple Axle bumper pulls that just swallow a ton of toys.

50k might of been the MSRP i hope he did not pay that..... we have a 2014 sandsport and the MSRP was something like 47k but we did not pay anything close to that.

I bought my TH in FEB 2009, Its a no frills kind of TH. But I must say I spend on average 100+ nights in mine every year. I take it up hunting in 15-20 degree weather and summer time in 100 degree weather. Mine was 25K and has been worth every penny that I spent on it and worth the memories. I am at the point my cushions are all worn out, the genny has 500 hours on it and everything still works. I got alot of grief from people because it wasnt a "brand name", but I have had great luck with mine, also I give it plenty of care.

There are many things the new ones have my 04 WW doesn't have, I'd love to have dual electric beds, dual ac's (mines setup for that though) and yes the couch is very comfy and has a higher back, my dogs sleep on mine or its used for a bed for company, I never sit on it its like sitting on a padded bus stop bench. Definetly more modern cabinetry and granite looking counter tops, and as one poster stated ïnsulation. The walk around bed is much easier to make up then my sideways one. For me A toyhauler should be able to fit lots of toys, I dont get why most MFG's including the last original WW's went to the kitchen sink, stove, oven, bathroom all on one side. I've only owned 2 toyhaulers and I was looking at used ones, as another poster said WW had much more standard that were options on others which drew me to WW both times, I knew about the frame issues but I have yet to have any issues except for a blowout, genny has 600 hrs, original fridge,appliances,AC,water heater, no sagging walls, no frame issues. I don't get why MFG's went away from the original layout that every MFG pretty much used in front bed bumper pull toyhaulers just much more space. I think all toyhaulers should be widebody as well.....just my opinion.

As a first time TH owner I cannot compare my Sandsport to any other modern TH, other than my father's travel trailer from the 70's. All I have to say is they sure have come a long way!

Before I purchased my Pacific Coachworks Sandsport 19ex, I was originally in the market for a pop up trailer with cargo bay to fit my Polaris Ranger xp700 sxs.
Long story short, I stepped up to a TH.

I chose the Sandsport19ex specifically for its layout. Concerned about overall length as my truck is a F250 crew cab, I liked the 26'-1" length of the trailer.
Off the top of my head I don't recall how long my cargo bay is but it's plenty large to fit my sxs, which is just under 10' in length. I think the overall height is around 13' and not sure if it's taller than most other toy haulers.

I've researched many different layouts from many different manufacturers, and for the size and price point, I still haven't found a better layout that suits my needs.

Like the OP stated, my charging ports are in an odd place too, but I do have a simple solution for that. Mine didn't come with those Swivel Chairs so I cannot comment on them. I can say that the fold down sofa chairs are surprisingly exceptional in comfort, and turn into acceptable beds. The 110v outlet is installed under my cabinet and faces down to the counter but I believe my coffee pot extention cord is long enough. There's a secondary outlet on the side of the drawer cabinets as well. Which one is used, I don't know. My wife makes the coffee.

Now as for quality control, having read multiple posts on workmanship, I was prepared for all those little surprises one finds after the purchase.

Luckily, I have both carpentry and fabrication skills to address the occasion issues that pop up.. .

Don't get me wrong, its nice but you would think the MFG would put a little more thought into the design, I'm a contractor and anymore its all about how cheap you can build it and maximum profit. He is not a negotiator at all he just walks in and buys it and its his first toyhauler bought it right off the lot. I would have measured my sand rail first and measured the trailer inside and ext height, before he bought it he had me measure the height of mine but his is much taller. I think the dealer really jacked him around too. Yes I agree about 40k would be tops.
Yes of course I told him how nice his new rig is, I'm not going to criticize his decision and he pointed out the electrical outlet locations, how his rail wont fit then I started thinking about the layout front walkaround front bedroom, large bathroom, kitchen sink, oven,stove all on the left side= not much cargo space.

Well by the original post. It seems like the "friend" didnt do his homework when purchasing a $50k TH. I dont know how its the mfg fault for not building it to your specs. But then again different strokes for different folks.
