Interesting... Looks like that thread was closed, but it's not marked "closed", that I can see. I happened to catch that video on YT last week, as it happens. As for the comments on the short yellows, we have short lights here, though the lights are centrally controlled and all intersections have cameras that tie into the central traffic-control system and it will change light timing, especially for left-turn lights. One near us, will give a 2 second green at times, with up to 10 cars in a 2-lane turn bay, and at others, will give an 8-10 second green with 1-2 cars in the bay. I've had a couple convos with the head Traffic Engineer for the city, and he told me that this was "normal". I did give him an earful about having to wait 3 lights to get 10 cars through an intersection because of this. I realize I'm talking green lights, and the video comments were clearly about =yellow= lights. Hell, all it would take is someone with a dash cam to record several passes through that same intersection, or even just standing on the corner and filming the lights for a few hours, to prove that the lights were "faulty". I'd say that there might be an awful good case for =both= parties to go after the State for damages.
