If you just pull local and a couple times a year, then maybe "save your money" and take a chance without a slider. If you are going to do any traveling or take a few extended trips then you have two choices:
(1) spend the money up front and get the slider, or (2) pay your deductible every few years for repairs to your rear window, truck cab, and front of your fiver.
