Agreed.... Paying special attention to the oil filter access if you service your truck.
When I look down at my CTD I can see the ground. Can you? Cummins12V98 wrote:

It's 41 feet and heavy. I rode in a Dodge the other week and the truck actually came equipped with a Jake Brake. It is straining my current 05 F350 so I was thinking of getting a F450 if I go with the Ford.

BTW it's now "RAM".
I tow 33-35K combined with my 15 RAM Dually with 4.10's and AISIN Medium Duty trans. I also have factory rear air ride, VERY nice!!!
I am at or within all my ratings, tows and handles the load with ease in aLL weather and road conditions. RAM, not your Fathers Dodge!!!
Go try out a LongHorn have them lower the rear tires to 35 and take a test ride. YES 35 is MORE pressure than is needed for an unloaded DRW truck. - alexleblancExplorerany of the current 1ton duallies from Ford, GM or Ram will more than do the job - these aren't your 1ton's from 10-15 years ago, they have been seriously upgraded.
I'm a little Bias towards the Ford product as its what I own but all three are very good, buy the one that you like best with confidence. - Shifty_85ExplorerThe new ford 6.7L diesels are amazing. worked on the diesel side of the shop for 2 years at a dealership only issues we really had was the radiator leaks driver side where plastic and aluminium come together. and the EGR systems on the boom trucks that sit and run the PTO all day.
past that never had any 6.7L in for any other issues really. They have a ton of power as well. - eHoeflerExplorer IIMy Ram has pulled our 40'er for years.
- joebedfordNomad IIYour GVWR is 16250 - pretty light for a 41' rig. That's about what my old 37' toy hauler weighed and it was fine with my 2004 CTD Ram. My current 5er is 19000 and it definitely wasn't OK with the 2004 Ram. In 2011 the Silverado 3500HD was the only one spec'd for that weight so I bought that, but I believe all the big 3 can handle 16250 now.
Buy a dually - you'll thank me. - laknoxNomadThe RAM 3500 duallies from the last couple of years are rated to tow just as much as the M2 Freightliners, 30,000 lbs. The M2 may have an edge in payload, but I don't think that's an issue with your FW. I'm no Dodge fan, but were I to consider full-timing in a rig like yours, I'd =seriously= consider the RAM.
