I'm not really sure what was going on, but we saw at least 5 different trucks with TCs pulling TTs today on I-90. Not that exciting with the exception of the commercial RV dealer truck pulling a long TT with the trailer chains barely off the pavement with an Adventurer in the bed and headlights pointed skyward. Pretty bad considering the fire level we are at to have chains barely above the pavement.Well, the F150 with a Lance TC and longer Lance TT behind was kind of interesting. I'm not sure how it couldn't be overloaded. It's not hard.. they don't know or don't care. We tow a TT sometimes; MIL can't get into the camper safely (she thinks she can...oh dear God), so we picked up a 22' TT for her last year. Those trips are about no toys..just relaxing. So, we're one of those funny looking rigs sometimes.

Some don't care. Some don't know with heads buried in the sand.

I would bet money it's a local dealer taking delivery of rigs, and the drivers don't care to take the time to do the proper rigging, because after all, they know how to drive, they're "professionals"... Deliver the rigs as fast as possible and turn around and do it again. But again, I'm only hypothesizing.

When momma gets po'ed he still has a place to sleep.:B Likely being delivered to dealers or a show but that doesn't excuse unsafe practices.

I live in Iowa and I licensed for 10 ton.
Standard pick up plates here are 3 ton and that won't even cover the weight of an empty 3500.

That TT was probably the 24 ft one. The Lance site says it has a 550 lb hitch dry weight. The Lance site says the 650 TC dry weight is 1694 lbs.

In my humble opinion as a Retired safety and compliance officer for a commercial carrier, anyone who pulls a travel trailer should qualify with a written exam AND complete a road course (and pass) that includes backing up. No pass, No endorsement No drive. Problem solved.
