Newbie 5th Wheeler

Purchased a new 5th wheel and haven't even picked it up yet. Will be going from Maryland to Florida in early January and have rented a spot in an RV park. Hopefully you all will not think this too dumb but the place has sewer hookups and hard wired for computers. Does sewer hookup mean I can just connect a few hoses and it will work just like the toilet at home and I will not need to do the dreaded black tank thing? Also what does the hard wired mean for the computer access. Can I just plug that in like I do at home where I have a server or do I still need to take the hot spot?

Yes, you will need your hotspot!

You do NOT need a hotspot. Just plug it in, assuming the trailer is wired for Ethernet.

If you want wireless access, you will need a router/wireless access point.
  • This is a duplicate thread. The other one has more earlier responses.
  • USE BLACK TANK WITH VALVE CLOSED, USE PLENTY OF WATER EACH FLUSH.

USE PLENTY OF WATER WITH EACH FLUSH TO AVOID THE STINKING BROWN MOUNTAIN.

USE PLENTY OF WATER AND SEPTIC SAFE TOILET PAPER.

USE PLENTY OF WATER, IF YOU GET THE HINT!!
  • Not sure what you mean by the black tank thing, but once you hook up your black tank hose you should keep it the lever closed until nearly full, then pull the lever to empty, then flush. No, it's not as carefree as your toilet at home. Same with gray tank. If you leave either of them both open, you will collect hard, sticky particles collecting in the bottom, which you want to avoid.

Can't speak to the computer connection, never experienced it.
