I have learned that I dislike many things that manufacturers do and the cheap products that they use.
I have developed an outside the box mentality when it comes to my toy hauler preferences.
I have moved away from traditional manufacturers. My current TH is a VRV.
I have had three different units and had issues with all three, which is typical.
I had seams in the rubber roof that were not sealed well cause leaks.
Since all trailers flex I had sealed edges separate and allow rain to penetrate causing the Filon sides to bulge even though I continually reseal them.
I have seen cheap particle board and plywood used in the bulk construction even though they have solid wood cabinet doors. Both of which don't react well to water intrusion.
I have had ugly rust show up on the poorly painted frame and exposed painted metal areas of the tongue and structure around the ramp door.
Basically, I hate the way they are made.
I just looked back and everything is a bullet statement...LOL
At least look at the two manufacturers of the VRV products and consider an ALL ALUMINUM product. They are a bit unconventional but there is almost no steel and there is no wood anywhere in the TH. No rust and no rot, ever. Even the roof is an un-seamed sheet of aluminum. The floors are solid aluminum so no crappy wood to deteriorate due to the hard use we put them through, you can even hose it out!
I'm sure they have issues just like every other TH but the issues I have seen with the three units I have had are at least mitigated...
That's my two cents...
