=Any= scale will work; CAT scales are just convenient for weighing the front and rear separately at one time. If you have a local feedlot, feed store, or any place that needs scales, ask them if you can get a couple quick weights. Drive the front wheels as far onto the scale without the rear wheels hitting the platform. Get a weight. Do the same with the rears. Now, you have the weights on each axle and you can tell what you can CARRY. Add them together to get your current total weight. Add this to the published gross weight of the FW you're looking at to be sure if the =combined= weight is within spec for the truck. Likely your truck won't have 1500 lbs of payload left to carry the FW pin.
