The 3750 lbs is per tire however the 6084 RAWR includes tires/wheels and rear spring pack.
The '96 HD had the old 5.8 small block at around 210 hp. The 460 (7.5) big block gasser had around 245 hp. Much better towing engine.
Your husbands math at 2600 lbs would include the heavy 5th wheel hitch and other gear. Also its best to weigh the trucks front and rear axles separately that way you know what your working with.
Generally the older model F250 HD were very light on the rear axle compared to the Super Duties which equates to more payload.
If the truck is the small 360 ci (5.8) gasser I don't think you will like its towing performance with a 10500-11000 lb trailer. The combo will be slow so take it easy and forget about keeping up with the traffic flow.
