No 12v power with shore hookup (HELP)

I have a 2010 Jayco eagle 365bhs. I was cleaning it up today and realized that all my 12v circuits don't work on 120 volt hook up. Hooked to house battery they work fine. Hooked to vehicle work fine but if I disconnect neg house lead and plug into 120 I get nothing. All breakers and fuses are good but I have no idea where the power converter is located. Could that be the problem and if so how do I find it
  • Reconnect the battery.. and any other various wires and rings that were also put over the negative terminal.. then tell us if your problems are still there.
  • I noticed a 30a fuse in the battery compartment but that is not blown and I do get power to my 120v plugs and micro
  • If you have a WFCO panel, the converter should be on the bottom part. All my last and current campers gave me 12v from the converter with or without the battery connected. If it is your converter, maybe a good time to upgrade.
  • OK so here is how this came about. I was plugged into 120v and I had the 12v lights on and the fan to the a/c unit going. I went into the house for a few minutes and when I came back the fan was off and the lighting was very dim as if the battery had died but the whole time I was plugged into 120v power.
  • so with no house battery connected at all I would not get 12v power if I plugged into 120v?
  • You can't get power...

Your 120 volt circuit gets sent to the 120 to 12 volt converter... That sends power to the battery. The battery runs everything that is 12 volt. If you disconnect the battery.. your converter can't do anything, and your battery is not connected so it doesn't do anything either.
  • Not understanding why you would disconnect the neg battery cable? Some converters need to have a battery in the circuit at all times...
