Our current 5th wheel is our first with a residential fridge. It's the best thing since sliced bread! I've been RVing for 25 years and have had to replace cooling units on both Norcold and Dometic absorption RV fridges, and even when they work, they don't work all that well. No more of that with the residential fridge - it's just there and does its job.

Rusty, what problems issues did you have replacing the RV fridge with residential! Things like bringing it thru the door, clearance issues installing it, etc. Also did you add batteries and an invertor to the mix?
I ordered my 2014 with the 4 door Norcold. Nothing but issues from day one. Due to constant threads posted with issues with these units, I removed it and replaced it with a Samsung residential. August will be 2 years. I never thought I could be so in love with a refrigerator! LOL
It fit through the door by removing the doors and fit perfectly into the spot of the old Norcold.
The back of the Samsung is closed as its vented through a u-tunnel venting system on the bottom - intake and outtake on the front. So no issue with venting or being close to the rear wall. I closed off the standard RV fridge vents completely.
I installed 2 6 volt deep cycle batteries and a 1k watt inverter. The unit powers up and cools down in less than 2 hours in hot FL weather and the truck keeps it charged enough during trips.
I've recently installed a 160 watt solar panel which now gives me total freedom during daylight hours at the storage lot. It keeps the batteries topped off in storage and keeps the batteries up while the fridge is running in storage or if we should take an extended stop during the day sightseeing.
Mind you, the new refrigerators are very efficient and will not run much once cooled down. My 2 batteries have been perfectly fine for our use. The solar was installed just for back-up and more flexibility in the storage lot.
