North Campground Bryce National Park

Has anyone had experience finding a campsite in North campground in Bryce National park in April or May? Is this a nice campground?

Thank you
  • We camped in north last July for two weeks. We are 33ft long. Most of the reserved sites were foreigners and they do make reservations. I would not be concerned about finding a spot. There again, I spoke with a ranger a few days ago and he said they were seeing numbers now like summer numbers. I still think you can get a site. We will be volunteering there this summer and will be in Sunset next to the host. Come by and say hi for those coming mid May through mid sept.
  • We stayed in the North campground one night the first week of June in 2009. We got in without a reservation, but there were few sites available.
  • Took a drive through the North CG a few years back just to see how the other half lived. Very few sites big enough for our 34' length but quite a few for the under 30 crowd.
  • We stayed a week in the North CG a few years ago in June. Lucky for us we had reserved a site. The CG was full. What was surprising was that at least half of the sites were occupied with rentals of types. We got to meet real nice folks from Germany, France, England and Spain. The couple from Spain was a first for us.

The CG was OK. I think the North is better than Sunset. I doubt that you would have a problem with a drive up in April or May. Ruby's is always available.
