Not so Super Cargo Tires
I have a cattle trailer with tandem axles that gets very low miles as it is used for a 60 mile round trip no more than 3 times a year. So I thought I'd get less expensive tires since they will age into replacement rather than wear out. I bought 5 Super Cargo trailer tires, ST 225/75R15, 4 on the ground and a spare.
One of the tires on the ground with about 100 miles on it exploded while the trailer was parked and empty. The dealer measured tHe tread and charged me $10 for the new replacement.
This morning I loaded up a bull to haul to the livestock auction about 25 miles one way. I made it 20 miles and a tire disintegrated throwing tread all over. I checked it out and resumed the trip (5 miles left) at reduced speed. No problem, right? Light load should be OK with one tire.
I got to the livestock yard and unloaded the bull. Then I wanted to swap the bad tire for the brand new unused spare. I hadn't noticed previously but the spare had exploded. I had an adjustable hitch so I raised the tongue height to put the weight on the rear (not exploded yet) tires and made it home 25 miles.
Counting the replacement tire I have had three failures out of 6 new tires operated well below their load rating and not over or under inflated.
Maybe there was a bad batch, maybe the Chinese mfg has poor quality control, maybe maybe maybe... Maybe you shouldn't buy any of these tires unless you want to risk an accident. Luckily two of my failures were with the trailer parked and the one under way was on a straight and level road with a good shoulder. You might mot be so lucky. I will not be putting any of these "BARGAIN" tires on my RV.
