One bike toy hauler

I saw one in the desert once that had a 1/2 door on the back for one bike or smaller quad. I think the bathroom was next to where the toy went. Don't remember what brand it was. As for ease of loading, when you get to camp pull the bike out before you park, that's what I did when I hauled the 'Wing last year.

Ah, I see. Mine has that but I didn't know that is what it was called. Learn something new everyday. That would make a big difference in the angle of the door for sure.

A beaver tail is an a downward angle many a foot or so from the end of the floor. It helps to eliminate the bottoming out effect caused by a long low bike trying to make the transition from the ramp to the floor of the trailer. You have seen signs at rail road crossings that are raised stating lowboy trailers may hang up because the hump of the tracks will hit the bottom of the lowboy flatbed. Beaver tails are a good thing.

Okay, what exactly are we referring to as "the beaver tail"? I suppose a guy could add some kind of secondary ramp to lessen the angle.

Yeah, if it's a cruiser style it's probably has a long enough wheelbase to make fitting it side to side a bit of an issue. Sport bike shouldn't have a problem.

They are steeper, as the side loaders do not have the advantage of the beaver tail. If the OP's bike is 98", it is not going to fit in a side load. Max allowable width is 102" on the outside. Even if the walls are only 2" thick, that would put both ends of the bike rubbing on the walls.

With a heavy cycle ramp angle is a problem. Not only is it hard to get up when wet, but you may hang up on the bottom going over the crown at top. Newer models are lower and have a "beaver tail". Look for one that converts to a dining/bed room and has screen door on the back and make use of the garage.
