We go to a 1-day hamfest and camp in the parking lot. Since it's reasonably level all I do is lower the front gear to level and stabilize the trailer. I also lower the rear to stabilize some more. Only reason I do all that is we are there for abt 24 hrs and in and out of the trailer and the rocking gets old.
I also carry my generator in my TV. It rides behind the cab and has to be turned sideways in the bed to point the exhaust out the off side of the trailer and put the controls on the passenger side. Since it's too long with the hitch in it's normal position I take advantage of the slider and move the trailer and hitch back abt 15" and then I have room for the genny to turn sideways and run the AC.
See I do have a use for the slider hitch.
