Have you tried joining and asking the same question on the owners' forum? If you ask what people don't like or what problems they've had (specifically ask about warranty and customer service), you're more likely to get straight answers. OR owners' forumRob

At the Pittsburg RV show last winter an Open Range 5er on the smaller side really caught my eye. I pissed off the better half by spending a good hour going through it, under it, and over it. Although it looked good at first glance, I found a lot of sloppy assembly. Even more so than my Rockwood. It could of been that one particular unit but it did not impress me much after the once over.

Been in a few at RV shows and seen a few in the resorts and was never impressed with them for some reason they never have 6 point auto-level- or Mor-ryde/Trail- Air pin boxes or decent electronics or appliances inside,plain interiors, same build quality and construction they just seem like a "Bare boned" 5er's that are a few years behind everybody else compared to all the other Brands in their price range I never got what people see in them and I can't be the only one I do not see a lot of them in my 6 years of Travels JMHO

Check out the owner's forum as previously suggested. We have a 2013 Open Range TT that has been very reliable. Only one warranty item, a bad propane regulator which they quickly replaced. We have taken it cross country several times and many, many 500 to 1000 mile trips too. I did change out the junk tires that came on it after about a year. Ours was built before Jayco and later Thor took over the company but the quality of the older models was excellent. I can't offer an opinion on newer models but many friends own them and seem happy. They do have some of the best floor plans on the market in my opinion.

Look at the Open Range Owners forum.Our 2016 OR LF297RLS is our 5th RV and the one we've been happiest with. We liked the weight, and the floor plan.Early years of this model had slide gearbox failures, frustrating but promptly repaired under warranty by OR. We replaced two gearboxes in the first 6 months. In our year and a half and 30,000 miles since OR changed to hardened gear material we've carried a spare, and had no further trouble.Other than the slide gearbox issue we've had no quality or maintenance issues. The fridge, stovetop, air conditioners work much better than those in our Winnebago.
