Open Range light fifth wheels

The Open Range is run by Randy Graber who did work for Keystone but was the original CEO when Open Range first started and is still there. Yes Jayco did invest in Open Range but it remains a stand alone company with the same management. I believe the merger just allowed OR a bigger cash flow so they might be able to step up a notch. Our OR was the 162 unit that Open Range built. Yes there was a delam problem on the back panel with ours but was taken back to the factory and fixed the same day it was taken in. They also checked out things that we had not even thought about (slide seal tear). The folks at the factory are excellent to work with and I would not hesitate to purchase another one. We have probably around 30,000 miles on ours and still enjoy it. Good Luck with your new purchase.

Open Range;

Since the acquisition of Open Range RV by Jayco RV. Changes have been minor just as promised from both RV manufacturers. However with new business licensing requirements. A new stable has come to Open Range RV. Highland Ridge RV is now considered the new home of Open Range RV. A new website will be up and running shortly; highlandridgerv.com.

Thor is acquiring KZ.

Nope the are not partially owned by KZ. I have chatted directly with the owner of OR at the OR rally.

We purchased a 2014 Open Range Light Fifth Wheel in June of 2013. We absolutely love it. No real problems so far. We did have the Draw-Tite (sp?) piece on the largest slide break, but my husband was able to fix it with hinges and no problems since. Otherwise, it is wonderful. We have the 297SL and love the living area, very long couch, very comfortable recliners. Good luck.

Thank you all for the information. WE did decide to trade our Outback TT for the Light fifth wheel. We went to Walnut Ridge RV in New Castle IN, that is a 3 1/2 drive from our home. They are the best camper dealership we have ever dealt with! I am confident we will have great service with them. One of the best features is they own a campground near by and they give you 2 nights camping so to go over your camper play with all the features and if you forgot something or have an issue you can get the help you might need. All I can say is i can not wait to get our first fifth wheel!

Have a 2011 OR. Very happy with it.

IMHO build quality is mid to the high end of Mid. However the distinction is the warranty and awesome after the sale support.

Having said that they were just recently acquired by Jayco so I do not know the impact (if any) of that.

Our Open Range 345 RLS has over 30,000 miles on it. We've lived it about 5 months of every year since we picked it up in early 2011. We've had NO major issues of any kind. We love it and would buy it again in a heartbeat! Great company.
