Opinions on Lippert 6 pt. leveling system

We are about to place on order on a Sandpiper 371REBH and I'm considering the Lippert 6 pt. leveling system. It's a $2,000 option. What is everyone's thoughts on it? Is it a troublesome system or pretty reliable? Does it work well? Thanks!
  • It does take a few times working it to get the hang of things .I was pretty hesitant thinking I would screw things up but after using it since last July when I got my unit it is the cats meow, and believe me when you hit that button and it does all the work you get lots of fellow campers having a look and commenting. GO FOR IT.
  • I fulltime and have been using it on my Bighorn for almost 2 years. I love it. It's absolutely the best feature on my rig. Push one button, stand back and watch the legs go down, let it do it's dance for about 10-15 seconds, DONE. You will be the envy of the entire campground. Especially in the rain.

The individual legs will only extend so far. You should understand that it is possible to have a site that is unlevel enough that you will sometimes need to place leveling blocks under one or more of the individual legs. I also use one of them under each foot (all 6) whenever I am on gravel, dirt, or asphalt to spread the load. I carry a couple sets of the plastic ones. One set is about 14x10x1 (yellow) and the other is smaller (red).

** Make sure to pull your truck far enough forward that the front of the 5er cannot contact it when the leveling begins - the front of the 5er will take a dip at the start of the process.

  • I have had the 6 point leveling system since 2009. Will not have another without it.
  • Don't hesitate. Auto Level is a game changer. It maybe the best feature on my 5'er as well.
There is a slight learning curve to how it works. Once you understand how it thinks it is great. It is a must have option.
  • I just bought a new 5er a few months ago and I've had it out 3 times. The 6 point is probably the best feature on this new 5er. What a time saver !!!
