I'm fortunate and blessed to be able to have a 5th wheel. The 5th wheel we recently purchased has the Lippert hydraulic Level-Up jack system. Frankly, I wouldn't have added it as an option if it didn't come standard. I've always been used to manually leveling the rig from side to side with blocks under the tires, and then manually dropping the front jacks. I didn't realize how much time that took until I used the Level-Up system. Wow, it makes unhitching and leveling so easy. Push a button to raise the trailer off the hitch, drive off, walk back, push a button and level the entire rig. When it is hot out, you'll appreciate the time savings. If you are looking at a new rig and Level-up is an option, I'd recommend it.

You can also momentarily push two buttons (left arrow and right arrow simultaneously) to return the front of the 5th wheel to the point at which you unhitched when you're ready to hitch up again. I don't know if you've found that "trick" yet or not.Rusty

X2 on the Level Up and the trick RustyJC mentioned. We've had our 5er just about a year, hit the auto level button after disconnecting, go hook up the power and water.

I'm a big fan of the Level-Up system too, but there is one thing I don't like about it. I live on a sloping and uneven cul-de-sac, and have to be very particular where I park our trailer before unhitching. The system has a 5-degree out-of-level limit, and will stop raising the front when that limit is reached. I have parked the trailer on the cul-de-sac where I needed to raise the front about 5.2 degrees to get the weight off the truck, and it stopped at 5 degrees and displayed an "excessive angle" error. After repositioning the trailer, I was able to unhitch with a 4.7 degree up angle. I have painted marks on the street to be sure it is in the right location in the future.

The level up systems was the number 1 reason we traded for newer also. So much easier!

It's described in the owner's manual. That is the process for doing a reset if it gets out of level. Sometimes it decides that 'unlevel' is 'level', so you do a manual level, then tell it's brain this is the new 'level'.

We still carry some Lynx Levelers in our basement just in case. It doesn't hurt to help out the leveling system by raising the tires for one side on a surface that is obviously not level, before you turn it over to Otto. That's Mr. Otto Matic.

We love our`s also, but we did find that if the spot you are going to set up on is not fairly level it will cause some problems. Just move to a different spot!!

My new fifth wheel level up also "lost its mind" and timed out. Talked to Lippert and they said it was "confused". Two things I learned from them is you don't have unplug or cut the power to the system to set level again. You just do the 10 times routine when the system is turned off. Secondly, they said you must do the 10 times exactly in proper sequence/timing and don't hesitate from the front to rear buttons. I had to do the "10" routine about three times for the system to come on and reset level. The rep said that is normal for this system. I love the system and hope it keeps its mind!

Let me add one more set of kudos for the LCI Level Up (r) system based on ours. As another poster has said, I did not appreciate the degree of hassle I went through with my previous 5th wheel's traditional landing gear jacks, including being unable to fully extend one of them on two occasions due to wear on the drive gears and failure of a holding clip on the drive motor causing the shear pin on the "axle" between the 2 jacks to repeatedly break.
One observation. The technician conducting the walk through suggested we operate the jacks in manual mode & not use the "memory" function. Did not ask him why. We do it all on manual and visually confirm all jacks are fully retracted before pulling away, as the instructions suggest.
Of course we use the auto-level function with great pleasure. One caution: be sure the tow vehicle's open tailgate is completely out from under the pin before starting the auto-level. The system drops the front end as its first move, which potentially could cause the pin to hit a tailgate left under it. I had a close call on that once.

After hitching, I'll go into the manual mode (arrow up or down) and select "Retract All Jacks". I still check them on my final walkaround before pulling out.

Love ours, although its the electric version, best part of the camper. Now just remember to raise the rear jacks before taking off , dont ask me how I know this but it wasnt pretty @1am in the middle of a january freezing rainstorm .....

Love the system too until it looses it's mind. I'm still fiddling with mine. I go through the reset procedure and all seems well, but after taking it on the next adventure, it needs to be reset again. A new brain might be in order. On the positive side, I can't imagine setting up without it after coming from a MH with an automatic level.
