I had a friend loose a BFG Commercial TA tire this winter in Arizona. It is not the first I have heard of failing that was outside the volunteer recall S/N range.
If one is going to use LT tires on a 5th wheel that is pushing the limits of 6K axles then spend the money and get the Ribs or R250s. If you are at around 10K on the axles, the Transforce seems to get really good reviews.
I ran a set of RIBs 6.5 years and 40K+ miles and sold them on CL with 65 percent tread left for 200 bucks. Three had date codes 7.5 years old and one 8.5 years old, and was getting micro cracks on the sidewalls.
I installed R250's this time.
Just say NO to cheap ST tires if you want to put tire issues behind you.
