The 800cc 3-cylinder DOHC Chery engine in is reliable but not powerful. Upgrading to the 1100cc is just another cylinder added to the block and uses the same piston and valve size. They can be reliably turbo'ed and still get long life out of them. The parts come China and the vehicles are assembled in NM.
This car is not the fastest nor does it have the best suspension for high speed off-road. What it does have is on-road licensing rather than the restricted use of a SxS.
I've been looking at these for a while and trying to decide if I pick one up or if I buy a Mahindra Roxor and meld an old Jeep into it get on-road licensing. My old VW buggy (which is street licensed) would probably be sold if either option comes through.
