Organizing your "pass through"

X 2...My thoughts exactly but only to a certain point...I carry more stuff than I would if all I was doing was camping. The space taken up by my "work" necessities causes me to fill my storage areas up a bit further than a normal camping trip...

With that said, I still have a bunch of not full and empty interior storage areas. When I see threads like the "electric fireplace" threads take the tangent that people need the storage space more than the "fireplace', I have to wonder what these people are hauling that takes up so much space that the missing fireplace would make a difference...

Now before the full timers and long termer's get all wadded up defending their position and claiming I do not know their needs...I live in my 36 foot Big Horn on various job sites for multiple months at a time. I will be deploying in March for a nine month project...and I will be weeding even more stuff out of the "haul" before I leave...JMO...YMMV

...but when I get onsite, I will be stealing that table storage design...I like it...

I used 1/2" ply for the sides. 3/8" ply for the bottom. I used lighter 3/8" on the bottom because the weight of the tables is spread out across the whole bottom. My 5'er has exposed aluminum framing so I just attached the angle to the sides of the box then used some hex headed self drilling sheet metal type screw to attach it to the 5'er framing. It was a little tricky getting the hanger supports to line up with the 5'er framing. That and contorting myself for the rear fastening. Also was a little tricky trying to hold it up too. I used a small floor jack and just lifted it up till it touched the 5'ers framing. That held it in place while I fastened everything.

It really helps to keep the tables separate form everything else. It's always a catch 22 when you need a table and no chairs and the table is under them. We pack 4 chairs with us. 2 zero recliners and 2 small sand chairs we like for sitting around the fire. I'm going to build a shelf to separate the two sets that will fit under the table holder.
It's been in there for 4000+ miles and is still solid. Not a lot to go wrong anyway.

Loved all the pictures guys!! LOL @ some of them

Sad to say, after 7 seasons, over 140 nights per year & many many setups per trip, I am still living out of a combination of Rubbermaid container & cardboard boxes that various things came in. I am not an example of organization to be followed but I do know where stuff is most of the time when I need it. The slide out tray does make life easy & is well worth the sacrifice in a little cubic space to accomodate it. I have a genny enclosure accessed from the front which is awkward to get too so this has become my 'morgue' where stuff that is seldom used, like spares, is kept.
