Oscillating lights

Anybody know what would cause the 12 volt lights to start oscillating?

Around 2007 on the way into Death Valley we were camping with friends in a new Monaco that was doing exactly what you describe; generator on with lots of lights, "oscillating" somewhere around 30-60 sec (don't remember), dim, bright, dim.. It turned out to be an under-rated auto-reset circuit breaker between the batteries and the charger.. I think it was a 40A breaker on a 60A charger that was simply too small. A trip to NAPA fixed the problem.

    Mebbe you have something similar...
  • When our convertor went out last season the lights (including the refrigerator light) started oscillating along with the furnace blower, eventually nothing on 12V would work. We bought a replacement on Amazon for a couple hundred bucks and swapped it right out, problem fixed!

Battery failing and out of water and/or bad converter.

    YEP......

    Agreed, classic symptoms.
