Just went thru this in August. Tree limb hit the satellite dish destroying it along with a couple of vent covers, tank vents, A/C shroud and breaking one roof panel and tearing the rubber roof. When the rubber membrane was pulled off it took pieces of the roofing panels with it so the shop installed 1/8" luan paneling over the roof panels to insure a smooth surface for the rubber membrane. They did an excellent job overall and the insurance company (Safeco) was easy to deal with.
Yes, if you are interested in a satellite dish this would be the time to do it. Trees can be a hindrance but we have found it minimal in our journeys and we do carry along a portable dish which has been used once in 8 years.
