Out of Storage

My hauler, a '09 Attitude 26FSAK, has been in storage for more than a year and half. I stopped using it after my mother was diagnosed with cancer. Well she has passed and she asked me not to stop using or to ever sell it, she really enjoyed it when she was with us. But now I am concerned about the roof. It rained pretty good yesterday and now there is a white ring around my rig. What types of cleaning agents and conditioners are safe for a DIY job or should I go to a service center to have it brought back to it's original bright white? I just walked it and there's no cracking and all the caulked areas look good and caulking is still very pliable. Any suggestions? I also ran the generator, fridge, stove, water heater, fuel pump and water pump, they all are running as they did before I stored it. Thanks for the help.

  • I am assuming you mean there is a white ring around your rig on the ground? Which means when it rained, the white coating on the roof came down the sides of the camper and made a "ring" all around the camper. If this is the case, you probably should think of treating your roof with rubber roof sealer. It's a rubbery substance you brush or roll on your roof, like paint, it dries and becomes a new rubber layer. It's not cheap though, but it's a lt cheaper than replacing the entire roof.

You can probably get another year or 2 out of it before you should treat it. But if you treat it now, it would be better.
  • Go to your local camping supply store and look for Dicor roof cleaning products. Or Find a box of Spic-N-Span and a good stiff brush mix the Spic-N-Span in a bucket of warm water and start scrubbing.
