over night stop

There are many times when I sleep a rest sops where it is difficult to unhook. If I am at a rest stop and pulled out my slides I would probably tick off trucks. If I am at a camp ground for an overnight stay I pull out the slides but and hook up water and power but leave the truck hooked up to make it easier to drive off the next morning. I have 125 gallon fuel capacity with a range of over 1,000 miles soI can pick and choose where I do my fill ups. Most if not all fuel stops are at truck stops that accommodate large commercial rigs. The nice thing about 5th wheels is that they are easy to hook back up if you need to unhook

On a recent 3000 mile trip, on those stops we were just there for one night and leaving early the next day we never unhooked from the truck. Leveled it pretty close, hooked up the power and water, then headed to the recliner. Best part is in the morning it's a snap when getting ready to take off.

We do NOT unhook, but I do run the front landing gear down just to take a little weight off the truck. We try to find the most "level" spot but with in where we're told we can park. Yes, we ALWAYS ask first then park. We do run the slides out, again with permission.

Our bed is in slide and runs cross ways in the 5er isn't level the bed tilts to one side. We disconnect and hit auto level, just takes few more minutes in the morning to hook back up.

When we were travel trailer people and now fifth wheel folk, we use my legos as i call them to keep things fairly level. I get anal about the fridge, cold beer and milk are important and level trailer for sleeping is nice so you don't get those headaches. stabilizers are good for stability and rocking coach is kind of fun, the neighbors or people walking around never know what's going on inside!!! If we are stopping in a rest area or a Wal-Mart, we stay hooked up and if able, we open essential slides. We never put our jacks down. When we make an overnight stop at a campground, we always disconnect. We have an auto leveling system that makes connecting/disconnecting fast and easy. We also prefer to fuel without the RV attached.

Well when we Wally-dock we try to find a spot that our trailer is level. We don't put anything down and don't unhook the truck. We try to find a spot that the slides will go out over the grass.

Most of the time we spend more $$$ in the store than a campground would cost.

I usually unhook, mainly to take the truck to get fuel. I would rather not pull our 36 foot fiver through the fuel line. Also, we usually eat out while stopped for the night. Again, simpler park the truck without the great white whale attached
If I do leave the truck hooked up, I try to get somewhere close to level and drop the landing jacks. (My old TV needs a rest after pulling all day :) )

No need to unhook, but we do put down the stabilizers, front and rear take the weight off the TV, provide a stabile for putting the slides out, and help level, but that is not main concern. As long as it is close it should be ok. Some people are real picky about being level, now I run my refer while on the road, and that is not very level! So as long as your close it should not be a problem.
