I have enough money for any RV park we want to stay in but if we are traveling from point A to point B, I see no reason to pull into an RV park at 8 or 9 pm & back into a spot in the dark & maybe cold just for electricity only to leave early the next morning. We are fully self contained and for us it is nice to be able to pull in to Wally World, a rest area or other spot when we are ready, put up the satellite, watch a bit of TV, have a nice hot cup of tea and relax a bit before turning in. We park off to the side out of the way of traffic & it is not noisy. Now if you stop in a truck stop, you are right, it will be noisy. It works for us but if it is not your cup of tea, do what works for you. that is the great part of the RV lifestyle--so many choices or options for different folks. Di

Anyone with enough money for an RV has enough for an overnight at a campground. What is the fascination in staying in a noisy parking lot with lots of traffic all night?
