If I were you I would stay far away from Seattle, bumper to bumper traffic, pot heads, pan handlers and rude people, prices are high as well ...
Sea-Tec airport is a night mare and if you have a bigger pickup you may not be able to park at the airport only in a off site parking lot unless you have someone to drop you off... Better to stay to the south around Portland Or and fly out of their air-port, far, far easier to get in an out of an park.
I will say Portland isn't a peace of cake either but it's somewhat better than Seattle and the people are not as rude. Like Seattle, Portland has lots of bikes an bikers who think they own the sidewalk and road ...
I will say that Washington an Oregon are very pretty states and have lots to do with some beautiful camp grounds thought out both states, it just the large cities that really S%$&^K... How do I know, I have lived here for close to 30 years ...
The other day we went to see our kids in Kent Washington, from were we live its close to 90 miles north I-5 and north east Wa512 TO WA167 to east RT18, 4 hours later we arrived and this on a week day after 10 in the morning, the weekends are even worse ...You really have to laugh, on the weekends I-5 is packed between Seattle and Portland on Friday from all the people from Seattle going to Portland and all the Portland people coming north to Seattle, it like they exchange cities on the weekends. then on Sunday it's packed again with all the people returning back home from either city LOL
I personnel would like being in Ohio at Puttin-Bay, lots of cool things to do, nice folks an as someone said going south just a little bit you have the Amish country which is really cool. You are right on lake Erie which has some of the best fishing in the country, also the big amusement park (Ceder Park) which is really cool if your into to such things ...
Safe travels
