...my next commitment is 8/1 in Putin Bay, OH.
So, there are three options as we see them...
1) take two weeks to cruise up the Pacific Coast form SFO headed north, then high tail it home to Dallas so I can jump on a plane
2) make the cross-country run and find something to do in the Central / NE for a bit
3) head back to Dallas immediately after 7/14, fly to Putin Bay and back, then find somewhere else to go when I return.
you guys could likely weigh in with travel experiences, things to see and do (option 1 or 2), etc.
Any ideas?
If it were me I'd just do some sight seeing along the way instead of scurrying back and forth to catch flights. We just took a 2 week trip through Grand Teton NP, Yellowstone NP, Cody WY, and Mt. Rushmore and saw some amazing sights. Maybe you could hit some of those along the way?
Also, Reno NV and lake Tahoe is a really neat area. You could pop up I-80 and spend a few days there then on to Salt Lake City, north to Teton or Yellowstone then east on I-90. After Mt. Rushmore a couple of solid driving days and you'd be in northern OH for your destination at Putin Bay.
