I don't care what your real life weight police have to say !!! All I know from experience is that I won't tow that trailer with a single rear wheel truck.
So your experience is more then theirs???
In all honesty, i almost went dually setup. With the dual rear tires, does that help with stability?? The tires i have on there now are almost as much load capacity as a stock dually setup.
But dual's give you that protection during a blow out on the back of the truck, at 65 mph when that rear tire blows the weight of the 5th wheel will cause you to go into the ditch or into on coming traffic, so who cares what the people at the scales said, its what the highway patrol will put in the report after a accident and what the insurance company will do with your insurance after they pay out the claim, or if they do ?.
My single rear wheel tire is just as heavy as most stock dualies.. AT least in the weight ratiing category. That does worry me though, thats why i went so ridiculously huge on the tires... I only had those things set at 50 psi to and they didnt even budge when i put the trailer on.
I was concerned about that. I want to see how this tows and if i dont feel stable, i will ***** my current setup for dually setup in a heartbeat.. My wife daily drives the dodge, so her going dually will be tough...
Well, in washington states eyes my truck is perfectly legal. So they have no base to not pay..
