I'm looking for some recommendations. I've got an 08 F250 short box and I'm looking for a storage/tool box to fit below the box rails in this truck (19"). I would like to locate this in front of the 5th wheel hitch. I'm hoping to store a honda 2000 gen. in part of this box. The gen. dimensions are aprox. 17 h x 13w Any ideas will be Appreciated .Bill

Well, any number of boxes available. My truck came with a box, lucky me, however, not the very best quality. I have to lock it to keep the lid from bouncing open.In the past I bought a Millbrook for one of my Nissans. Very good box. http://www.truckbox.com/I'd just say, get the best you can afford.

It's in a long bed Ram 3500 but there is space between the box and the bed walls. I think the depth (front to back) is 26".

Check craigslist.Got mine for 50.00

Tractor Supply is a good source and reasonably priced.

Got mine at Pep Boy's. Look for a "truck chest", not a "tool box". Moved it to the landscape trailer when I got the long bed Chevy.

Not exactly what you asked, but my RDS combination toolbox and 51 gallon fuel tank fits perfectly in front of my Reese sliding hitch and below the bed rails. The two Honda 2000s fit in the 5th wheel front storage. I love having the extra range the fuel tank provides.

We have Highwayman boxes, they last a long, long time and still look new. Expensive though, we have a below the rails box near the rear window and a companion box next to the tailgate.

I am looking at getting a tool box, but want a bigger size than I see at the local stores. I found a custom mfg, and I mite get one next spring. I was looking at a under rail type and maybe 36" deep x bed width. jeff@customtoolboxes.com If you know any other mfg's let me know.
