Due to its high hitch design, a fifth wheel pushes down and forward at the same time. Your TrailAir pin box allows the trailer to push further down and also further forward at the same time. Plus the rear hinge design can cause your pin box to push forward at the same time your trailer is pushing forward. Your current pin box may be exacerbating chucking forces. The MorRyde pin box will help with help with chucking and is worth a try. The problem is you now get to deal with the bouncing forces the TrailAir alleviated.
Better to dump the Patriot and replace with a TrailerSaver TS3. This hitch retracts when compressed, dissipating both bouncing forces and chucking forces at the same time. A lot of money but at least you will be done with it.
