Larry 2 or 4 wheel drive? - 24fb_freedomExplorerwell that sucks! Hope you get it fixed and head out there its really a great place! Best of luck.
- sin_cal_hdExplorerWell we should be setting up camp right now, but my truck decided it didnt want any part of the first grade out of the valley heat.
I noticed a slow down about .5 mile up the hill. Then on the screen it showed "REDUCE ENGINE POWER". A picture of a engine thermostat showed up with a wrench. Made it to the top of the 1.5 mile climb, pulled over let it cool down and made our way back home. Only 45 mioes into the trip. Half way home I had my brother n law come hook up to the trailer and tow it home and I drove the truck home with no trailer. Every time I got on the accelarator the engine temp maxed out and "Reduced engine power" came back on.
I think its the oil cooler. So Ive been told. Monday Im going to take to 2 shops and get a quote. Ive been told its about $2200 to repair. Gues I will find out Monday.
Thanks again everyone for the help. This would have been our first full beach camp in about 7 years. Have plans on trying next weekend if I get the truck fixed. - sin_cal_hdExplorerWell we should be setting up camp right now, but my truck decided it didnt want any part of the first grade out of the valley heat.

Bring some boards to place on the beach side of your rig if you going to have your trailer door facing the opposite side of the shore line Sand/Wind! Don't leave you aweing unattended. make sure you have flags on you toys! Follow the speed limit on the shore line . Don't drink and cuz along the shore line. Be safe!!
- StraboExplorerI remove the bars Larry, no need for them once your on the beach. Leave the air in your bags tho.
I cant wait till we go next month, love the Beach!! - lincsterExplorerI know it is different, but at Glamis, I don't ever see anyone unhook.

Have camera ready. Seems like lots and lots of people get stuck at Pismo. :)
Ive been to pismo many many times. Been stuck only once. A bada$$ jeep pulled me out. He hooked up to the rear of my trailer and backed out to the shoreline.
Im not worried about getting stuck. "Stuck Happens". Im more concerned with what to do with the WD bars when on the sand. - sin_cal_hdExplorer
