Plumbing question?

I just replaced the flex lines for my fresh water tanks, both the filler line and the line that connects the two tanks.

My question is what do I use to stop the small drips coming out? I used hose clamps but I still have a small leak.

Second question is what can I use on the fitting that screw into the tanks? I noticed a small leak coming from the fitting as well.

Thanks!
  • You should be able to tighten the hose clamp with a 5/16" socket. If it still leaks after that you may want to add a second hose clamp.
  • When you say flex lines do you mean Pex? Flexible Pex tubing has special Pex fittings and also Pex clamps that are crimped. You can get all the fittings at most hardware stores and Home Depot. You also need the crimping device, about $50 at Home Depot. I prefer the brass fittings instead of the plastic although both are OK. You should not have any leaks.
