Plumbing?

Rv'in for 30 years TT and fivers. The only leaks I have had was under the kitchen sink. The drain connections came lose very little water. Just a quick tightening and good to go. Had a faucet on a kitchen sink leak a little on a 10 year old rig. No big deal needed a new faucet very little water. Real leaks are caused by damage roofs and not maintaining the caulking around seams, windows etc. That is normal maintenance.

Maybe a pic or two of the area so we could make suggestions of how to "protect" the exposed lines. You may be able to tie them up out of the way with zip strips or protect them with some of the foam plumbing insulation.

Sounds like DH is looking for 'issues'....are you sure he wants to RV?

I had a plastic elbow in the floor break. This elbow was exactly the same thickness as the floor so no room for insulation. I don't know if it froze or broke because it was part of a 12 foot long glued together inflexible pipe extending down from the sink across the motorhome floor to the grey tank. I had to cut a large opening in the floor sheeting above and in the metal skin below to work on it. Lucky I started at the right spot.

Pipes in the open sounds really good to me!

I would tend to agree with this statement. Everyone worries about water intrusion/leaks. I spent the first 10 years of Rving constantly concerned about such. Regardless of preventative measures, care etc. they still seemed to occur. It took me a long time to develop the mindset that...well, if it leaks I will fix it! I am a lot happier camper now not worrying about problems that don't exist at the moment.

Don't over think this RV'ing thing.

Never had a problem in 20 years with current RV and 17 years in previous RV.

The risk isn't when traveling, it's when putting stuff in and slamming the pipes.

I wish all the plumbing was exposed and easy to repair. Our present fiver, which we purchased new, has over 100,000 miles on it and we have had very few plumbing repairs. What repairs we have had was to pipes and/or tubing that was accessible.

In 30+ years of RVing I've never had a problem with that besides, where else would they put it.
It's really nothing to worry about IMHO.
