One thing to consider about mounting it permanently on one spot on your camper, if you park under trees, or in a wooded area, you're pretty much restricted. If you find a way to keep it mobile and consider different options about mounting it permanent, or using a non-permanent mount, if you park anywhere with a "low overhead" you can put the pole in a different location. There are the ground level mounts that are anchored by a plate that sits under your tire if you are looking for a portable system. The plate can also be held down be a stabilizer or tongue jack.
I've always been surprised what people hang off their ladders and never had faith in their strength or mounting/attachment.
