portable air compressor

we just bought an portable air compressor. a vi air 4oo rv. it works great and after clamping it to the battery in fw, I can pump air in all tires truck and trailer. tired of hunting for air pump at stations, only to find out they won't put enough air in. this solution worked great for us.
  • I have the same Porter Cable unit pictured above and will attest to the durability of it. Our garage flooded in August, after over 8" of rain in 2 hours. We had over 2 feet of water in the garage for over an hour. The compressor floated (upside down of course, with motor submerged) and after a few days of drying out, works fine. A little slower to get to pressure and sounds a little muffled, but still chuggs along. I figured it would be toast and was surprised when it fired up.
  • Purchased this at Lowe's a few years ago - works great for the truck, trailer, air bags and bike tires. Bring it camping with us. Use for the air bags and truck tires. If I am at a place for a few days I lower the pressure in the truck rear tires - from 75 lbs to 60 lbs. Reduce the pressure in the air bags to improve the ride in the truck when not towing. Air everything back up before we hit the road.

  • I have two different Viair products. One mounted under truck, the other in wife's car. Very reliable products.
  • I installed a 4-pin flat connector on my compressor and use the taillight circuit. That's what works for me in my multiple situations and it doesn't blow a fuse. You could do the same with a 7-pin and use the battery circuit. Then just plug it in. Just saying ...

We have an earlier version and works great for us as well...

I also use it for blowing out my water lines for winterizing time... Mine being a tankless unit doesn't have instant high pressure which is great for blowing out the trailer water lines. I can open a faucet for each path to blow out without doing damage to plastic line before the pressure builds..

    Its all about PLAN Bs
