Post your frame issues and how it was repaired

I just dropped off my TH to look at the cracks in the frame I just found to see how much it is going to cost to fix. Does anyone know if I have a Lippert Frame based on my year and trailer? Its a 2005 Eclipse Attitude. I was hoping to see what kind of repairs you all have had done to fix your frames. Thanks!
  • Here's what happened to mine. About half way between the front axle and the front of the trailer the main frame members were butt welded together. Unfortunately the bead they ran missed the joint for about half it's length. This was on the driver's side. This was in 2012. My trailer is a 2006 FSAK 26.

I took these pictures and sent them to Attitude. They put me in touch with Lippert. I had a mobile welder come to my house (I didn't dare drive it anywhere) and he welded the joint and then welded a plate over the joint to reinforce it. He charged me $500 I think and I sent the receipt to Lippert and they reimbursed me. He did both sides of the trailer just to be sure.

I have also had the center spring hanger on the passenger side develop a crack in the weld to the frame, the rear outrigger on the passenger side rotated down and caused the side of the main frame member to develop a crack along the bottom of the outrigger. I was on the road and once again had to get a mobile welder to come out and fix the trailer. I don't remember what that one cost. I had photo of this but I can't find them right now.

Mod Edit: Changed width to 640 instead of height at 640
  • I did the frame repairs myself but I visited so cal rv doctor in lake Elsinore and previewed their work. I also have a 2005 Attitide 26' toy hauler. So cal rv doctor has a good fix for these trailers and habe addressed all the issues. They going rate is $3000 and they cross brace the frame add outriggers to support the walls between the wheel wells and add bracing to the interior cabinets. It's it of work and after doing the work myself id recommend having someone else do it. I had the typical problems plus mine broke the middle spring hanger off.
  • i know a shop that has done frames on the attitudes they are the same ones doing all of the frames on all weekend warriors.ck them out. socalrvdoctor in lake elsinore
  • Mine is a bumper pull so no pin box. The cracks are on both sides of the hauler where the cross beams are in front and behind the axels. It almost looks like the walls are sagging (only in that area) and causing the damage. No where else is there any damage.
  • I remember some issues during that time with the pin box area but I think they had kits to repair them.
Is that where your problems are?
