I replaced the power cord end with a plastic one a few months ago and I noticed today that its melted so bad the plugs are loose. I removed it and I was surprised how bad it was. Is it normal for these plugs to get that hot.The cord was pulling the plug in the receptacle so that may have heated up the box and caused it to melt?
Anyone had this problem before?
If you are buying stuff that is not UL listed you get what you pay for. I personally purchase from a supply house or maybe Home Depot if they carry Hubbell or even Levington.
When properly installed the plug may be quite warm with a 30 amp continuous load (highly unusual).
