Wow. Ceramic is on most new rigs due to stopping power and long life. Unsure what to think of your Tahoe experience as those vehicles came with ceramic oem starting about 2002 or so. Warped rotors can be caused by multiple problems. Most common is over tightened lug nuts. Poorly serviced caliper moving parts/sliding surfaces are right up there too. Driving style, without proper break-in, will affect brake life, too.
