Prepping TPO roof for caulking

I am going to recaulk my Vinyl TPO roof. What cleaner should I use over the existing caulk and roof surface prior to applying the DiCor self leveling sealant? I don't care to use the Internabond tape. Thanks

I second the no tape. a while back I asked about the long term results, Ie. after 8-10 years and the stuff started unraveling, then you are stuck with a mess to clean up. all of the proponents said, no problem. one person from FLA was honest and said that in the Florida sun he started having issues after several years. no such issue with dicor, etc. if you want a permanent seal use 3M marine 5200 and it will never come loose. 4200 if you want to be able to remove it.

  • Mineral spirits or acetone, both work well. I prefer acetone and use a fairly stiff brush to remove dirt from cracks. Do not use anything containing petroliun distillates or citric acid.
