My bet is that your tank is full when it burps. As the OP stated, you may have a mound that needs to be dissolved. The leak is prolly at the seal at the bottom of your toilet bowl. seems to be two separate problems that needs to be addressed.

The 5er is just too new to have a mound and I haven't been on full hookups yet. I agree on the seal but this pressure thing could be a contributor.
