We were just up there this Monday and looked at 8, used, 5th wheel units. I would say all 8 were as good as, if not better than what you are looking at. Plus, the prices are great. What units did you look at that you think compare with an Elite Suites from DRV? Although a Hitch Hiker is a great unit..it certainly doesn't compare with an Elite Suites

I had a 2004 Newmar Mountain Aire. Paid $57 for it new, sold it 3 years ago for $24.

The Newmar was every bit as nice as that DRV and more! It had a gross of 20K, I think that DRV is 16K.

I have a fiver on a site in Casa Grande, It is a Newmar Kountryaire with 2 slides circa 1994 in good condition. The guy who had it sold it to me for $4000 as he wanted out quickly.
It has a shed and is on a nice lot and the purchase price included 6 moths lot rent.

As you say, condition is everything.

$36k is still a bit steep for an 11yr old rig if everything checks out good (if not the price goes down accordingly). I suspect they know it. The RVTrader link someone posted shows what appears to be the same unit and it's labeled "negotiable". I might feel them out looking at mid to upper $20k range.

As someone else said, the are has tons of rigs as snowbirds exit and the kids don't want them.

I looked it up on Nada. You didn't give enough info to pick the exact match so I went with the largest, heaviest, 5'er they had for that year. Average retail was $32,800. Low retail is $27,200. The original list price was $93,438. If you go in and put in more precise info, you will get a closer match. I would try to buy closer to the low retail.

Anyone notice the jack stands under the slide? May not be a big deal, just caught my attention. No slide toppers. Frankly, for approx 20K more, you could have a brand new coach w/ full warranties. Just sayin.

The market in Arizona is flooded with luxury 5ers. My buddy had one just like this on consignment forever. He ended up giving it away for under wholesale value. I would keep shopping.

We'd rather buy a park model, but have not settled on a park. But I do think $30K for 12 years old is hard to digest. But they are over 100 new, so...
