problems with fridge

I had some fiberglass work done on the back of my 5er that happened to be right next to the fridge. since I got it back, I tried using the fridge with propane and I can hear it light, but then it would go out. This happened all three times I tried it. It works fine with electricity so we were fine for our trip. what should I look at - or do to fix this?

Thanks
Mike
  • Stove top working well? Could be low propane or air in the lines.
Also try blowing out the area with compressed air to get any debris out of the way.

  • thanks for the suggestions, I'll check them out in the a.m.
  • I agree fibreglassing can build up a lot of******on top of any vibration brings******down from the flue.

OH! so now we can't say "crapp"
  • Check for debris in the flame area. It could be blocking the flame sensor. If flame sensor doesn't "feel" the heat it will shut off the LP system in the refer.

Sounds like you need a new ignitor. You can test by removing it and wrapping the white portion in electrical tape and put back in but do not use the little screw to hold it. You can buy them on Ebay or at CW.
  • Check the flu. It is possible that some debris from the glass work is clogging up the flu and not allowing the burner to operate. If the RV was kept outside during the repair it is also possible that mud dogbbers or birds have clogged the flue while it was there.
