Head winds are known to kill mileage and so will a stiff wind from the side.Not as much as a good headwind but if I can and the weather cooperates I will put off traveling one more day.When wintering down south for the winters I have been known to leave a day early or wait a few days until the wind quit blowing hard.Once from that area the weather changes to a normal pattern but it's getting out of that area.Since we are retired a day or two one way or the other doesn't matter but I don't like to pull in wind unless I have to.
